The C-LIEGE Project (Clean Last mile transport and logistics management for smart and efficient local Governments in Europe) aims to define shared policies and soft measures for an energy-efficient urban freight transport (UFT) demand management and planning through a cooperative approach between public and private stakeholders. C-LIEGE is a STEER project addressed to the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) Programme 2010.
The project is conceived as a leading initiative to contribute to the reduction of energetic and environmental impacts of UFT in EU cities and regions.
The C-LIEGE Mid-Term Workshop will take placein Newcastle on 4thOctober 2012 from 9.30 am to 15.30 pm.It will be held in the Sage Gateshead, Northern Rock Foundation Hall, St. Mary´s Square, Gateshead Quays, Gateshead, NE8 2JR.
The Sage Gateshead is conveniently located for Newcastle city centre and for Newcastle Central Station and Newcastle International Airport.
The Workshop has the following three strategic objectives:
to present and share the
C-LIEGE results and solutions (the C-LIEGE Toolbox for the establishment of the city logistics manager, the C-LIEGE push and pull measures Database as well as the UFT Good Practice Database).
to present and share experiences in the progress of the
C-LIEGE Pilot Cities(Newcastle, Leicester, Stuttgart, Szczecin, Parma, Montana, Malta) on their pathway to cleaner and more energy-efficient UFT strategies and their transferability.
to enable in “
Stakeholders meet C-LIEGE experts” discussion groups an intense deliberation on how to implement successful strategies and the right push and pull measures in European cities and regions beyond the C-LIEGE project.
The participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge on measures and policies for sustainable and energy efficient UFT.
