Pilot project to strengthen cooperatives within the POSER programAs part of the Program de Promoção de Oportunidades Socio-Economicas Rurais (POSER) funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Cape Verde, co-funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development of the United Nations IFAD, Coopermondo carries on a pilot for the strengthening of agricultural cooperatives beneficiaries of the POSER.
The pilot took place exclusively on the island of Santiago and was based on:
1. Anthropological analysis: through the field survey and an ethnographic methodology, the anthropologist has been able to analyze the population’s perceptions on cooperatives to develop, together with POSER, an effective strategy for communicating the entrepreneurial model to producers.
2. Training of trainers: the Coopermondo experts trained the POSER trainers on basic training on the cooperative enterprise model and together they transmitted it to about 150 producers in the field.
The aim of these 4 months of work is to explore the possibility of collaboration between COOPERMONDO and POSER in the second phase of the latter’s implementation program, which will start in April 2019.
