The project is composed by four parts: the first one is developed in Dakar in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, where, in the open-air THEATRE VERDURE DE FAUDE DOUSSOUBA in the Pequine neighbourhood, managed by the senegalese actor Laity Fall, the show “Rumore di acque” (Noise of waters) was performed – a monologue by Marco Martinelli on the tragedy of migrants.
The second parts consists of a non-school laboratory, that took place in Diol Kadd, which created the show Thioro the barefoot girl, engaging youth and teenagers and all the village comunità – together with the three Dakar actors and musicians Adama Gueye, Fallou Diop e Malick Mboup. They put into life this african version of Little Red Hood at the Takku Ligey – the cultural center of Diol Kadd founded by Mandiaye N’Diaye.
The third part took place in the Fine Art Academy of Dakar, where the internationally famous artist and comic illustrator, Leila Marzocchi guided a two days laboratory on the scratchboard technic that counted with a great participation of students.
Finally the workshop with the actors of the Santial Company who studied with Mandiaye N’Diaye. This workshop consist of the first step to train “guides” that will be able to conduct the non-school theatre laboratories that Mandiaye developed with children and youth in the Dakar banlieu, in collaboration with Unicef and different charities and voluntary organisations.
