[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The district of Port Loko is one of the areas most affected by the long civil war that ravaged Sierra Leone between 1991 and 2002. The project aims to create a virtuous economic and social circle by increasing the amount of land used for agriculture and through the development of a cooperative that functions as a center for the cultivation and marketing of products. Basic literacy courses for women and elders of the village are also part of the project.
During the Ebola outbreak that hit Sierra Leone in 2014 – 2015, Coopermondo collaborated with local partners to actively counter the spread of the epidemic in the areas in which it operates, including Port Loko.
Among the results:

- More than 400 women are now literate;
- The creation of a revolving fund for small farmers;
- 5 hectares available for the cooperative and sustainable agriculture;
- 200 trained and qualified farmers;
- Ebola emergency response.
